A Cup of Tea before the siege.
Today as we all know has been gorgeous weather here in the northwest. So, as you do, you try and get out in it. Even a short time out in the fresh air does wonders for the soul and is good for mental health they keep telling us! Anyone who has ever had a motorbike I reckon already knows this or has learnt this from riding. Knowing you can remove yourself from everyday dramas just by sticking your helmet on and going on the bike for a pint of milk, is liberating and to some degree comforting.
There were riders aplenty as I arrived at J &S. I grabbed a coke from the cafe and went out to sun myself. This didn’t happen as I ended up in the shade due to lack of seats. No problem though it was nice just to outside and watching bikers come and go.
A little later I went for a stroll around the car park, seeing what bikes were on parade. Its not just a row of bikes though is it? Each one has a story to tell, either through its own history or that of the current owner. Going deep now, but everyone is on a journey and I don’t mean to J&S and back every saturday! It is part of life and how you decide to spend your time while you are here. Having a motorcycle is great for creating experiences and also for meeting like minded souls who share similar passions and interests. The camaraderie that can develop from meeting complete strangers is one of the perks of bike riding.
Anyway, back to today and here are a few select photos taken with the iphone.
What about storming the castle?
Oh yes what’s that all about???
Well this was part 2 of my journey. I had decided to go visit Beeston Castle, which is around 7? miles from J&S. Never been there in my life, seen the odd picture on the internet and that’s about it! I knew the castle was stuck on top of a hill, so I reckoned that there must be good views of the surrounding area once you were there. Plus, I couldn’t have chosen a better day weatherwise.
Anyway, the castle was great. The satnav took me down thin country lanes, past a few nice looking properties and eventually we arrived around 3pm. I will be posting a video of my visit on my youtube channel shortly. Click here to view. Here are a couple of photos just to prove that I got there!
