A little history of the Harley Brand & Teeshirts

Harley-Davidson t-shirts have a storied history that mirrors the evolution of the iconic American motorcycle brand itself. These iconic tees trace their origins back to the early 20th century when Harley-Davidson first began manufacturing motorcycles. The company’s logo and imagery quickly became synonymous with the rugged spirit of freedom and rebellion associated with motorcycle culture. Harley-Davidson started producing promotional t-shirts in the 1930s, primarily as giveaways to dealers and enthusiasts.

However, it wasn’t until the 1960s and 1970s that these tees gained significant popularity as a fashion statement. The distinctive Harley-Davidson logo, often featuring the classic winged skull, became a symbol of rebellion and counterculture. Over the years, Harley Davidson t-shirts have not only become an integral part of biker culture but have also transcended it to become a global fashion trend, cherished for their vintage appeal and association with the open road.

Today, Harley-Davidson t-shirts are an enduring emblem of the brand’s heritage and an emblematic piece of Americana.

Here are a few photos of the Harley Davidson t-shirts I collected when I had the Harley motorcycle. How many have you got?
